HEALING PATHWAYS TOWARD A TRULY HUMAN SOCIETY - Ben Bingham and Charles Burkam

For decades Ben and Charles have been living with and working out of a framework for a healthy society called the Threefold Social Order based on the book of that name by Rudolf Steiner written 100 years ago to help reorganize Europe after the devastation of World War I. Because this road was not taken, with the guiding inspiration of Freedom in all things to do with culture, Equality in all things to do with governance, and Philanthropy (the love of humanity) in all things to do with commerce, instead  the wars have never really ceased!

We live at a moment when all systems seem to be failing and there is a general sense that it is time for a change. Will we be part of setting the global reset? How can this framework help?

Ben in an earlier interview with Lauren Archer laid out some of the basics of this approach which can take many forms locally, regionally and globally. This improvisational conversation with  Lauren and Charles will dig deeper into the many possible nuances that can heal our world without imposing a centralized fix.

Come expecting takeaways that will serve you in your family, community, and organizational dynamics!

Charles Burkam, JD

After graduating with degrees in Economics and Law, Charles spent a decade as an advocate for equal justice within Community Legal Services, before serving one term as mayor in a small city in New Hampshire. Having met the 3-Fold image of the human being within Waldorf Education, he moved to England and spent 14 years in educational and financial administration exploring social principles based on that fundamental human image.

After returning to the US in 2000, he has served as an advisor to the Bio-Dynamic Farming and Gardening Assn., a trustee of a sustainable land trust, campaigned for the labeling of GMO’s, spent 5 years as the primary caregiver to his father and then served as the Director of a K-12 charter school before “retiring.”

He currently is on the boards of non-profits in education and the arts. He is a founding board member of the provocatively named World Institute for Societal Renewal (WISR) that is building towards its launch.
